Educators can now login and copy assignments by the click of a button. Once the assignment is copied to their teacher dashboard it creates a blank template of that assignments for students to fill in. Best of all, an educator can edit the instructions and rubric that is attached to the assignment.
Cite It In is a great site for students looking to reference material and make bibliographies. This is an easy to use that has a generator to cite materials such as: websites, books, videos, etc. Also, it works w/ APA, MLA, and Chicago styles.
Answerables the innovative educational tool that combines the best features of game based learning w/ a learning management system has just released their free iPad app. Answerables is being used by educators in a variety of ways from collaborating w/ other classes, to browsing the web, all in a secure 3D virtual environment.
Quiznetic is a new site for creating quizzes/games that students can all play at the same time. All a teacher has to do is create questions and select their track to have students answer questions and try to win this Game Based Learning racing game. Best of all, students can join using any device (via a unique code), questions can contain videos/pictures, and track student data.
EDpuzzle is vastly becoming one of the premiere web/iOS tools around for learning in the classroom. This is fantastic free tool for editing a video, cropping, adding quizzes/polls, narration, etc. then embedding into site/blog. It is being used to flip a classroom or lesson, Project Based Learning, grading/assessing, and even for differentiating instruction. The educational portal allows students to sign-up w/out needing an email account and lets educators track student progress in real-time.
Gamefroot is an excellent site for educators looking to teach or learn how to code. Gamefroot offers easy-to-follow tutorials and even professional development to help teachers integrate Gamefroot and STEM into their classroom. Similar to Scratch, students will be able to create their own online games (or iPhone), publish them, and even play games created by others.
YouTube Mixer is a new (beta) site for mixing and mashing up audio soundtracks. This is a dream come true for people looking to become their own DJ and experiment w/ different soundtracks from YouTube. YouTube Mixer also supports audio from SoundCloud and Jamendo and easily lets users edit their soundtracks to their heart's desire.
Buncee is the amazing Web 2.0 learning tool that educators everywhere are using in a wide variety of ways. This is a simple to use site/app w/ educational portal that allows educators to "flip" their classroom, differentiate instruction, blend learning, and much much more.... in a safe environment where they can manage/track student accounts and presentations.
Monster Math Duels is a new/free educational iOS app for Math. This fun app has students competing in class or at home on an iPad (split screen) or across multiple devices in different areas of Math (i.e. addition, subtraction, etc) grades K-5 (against each other or the computer). Monster Math is aligned to Common Core standards, tracks student progress, and is a great way to integrate Game Based Learning into the classroom.
