Shwup is a new (beta) site for sharing photos/videos. This is done by creating a private album that people can only view through an invitation. Once a person is invited they can then add media to this album via email there is no need to register.
What makes Shwup such a great resource is how easy it is to use and the ability to create a custom slide show called a muvee. This muvee is something similar to what PhotoPeach or Animoto would create.
Give Shwup a try by clicking here.

Flixtime
Flixtime is a site I just learned about from the award winning blog, Free Technology 4 Teachers. This is a site similar to Animoto that it lets you create amazing slide shows.
There is a lot to like about Flixtime such as: their cool graphics, excellent song selection, and the ability to control transitions in your show.
I highly recommend giving Flixtime a try by clicking here.
Below is my example (ignore the watermark)...

PhotoPeach just got better
PhotoPeach is a slide show making site that I used to suggest for those that wanted to try something a bit different then Animoto. While I prefer Animoto for a straight up slide show, I liked the fact that PhotoPeach had a little interaction built-in. For example, a person after watching the slide show could leave a comment in "real-time" that would then show up for others to view. (If only they could leave that as option to be reviewed before going "live" that would be great).
After reading the award nominated blog, Life Feast, I have discovered that you can now create quizzes very easily in this site as well. All a user has to do is click on the edit/captions+photos button and select Quiz. From there type in your question and answers and you are all set. Very easy!!!

I highly recommend checking out PhotoPeach if you haven't, as I think there could be an educational portal in the near future.

Slideroll
Slideroll is a wonderful new site for making exciting looking slide shows. I like to think of it as a cross between Animoto and iPhoto. Also, like most "Web 2.0" apps you have the ability to create an account and tweak settings to either allow comments or not. This is a very nice feature when having to abide by those strict CIPA/COPPA compliance rules.

What makes SR so great is not only the ability to upload photos and have it create a "generic" slideshow, you can also enter the slideshow creator to even further customize settings such as: music, transitions, zooming, text, etc. This is something which you can not do currently in Animoto.
Another nice feature of SR which I did not get a chance to check out is the video creator. I believe it is similar to VLC and lets you turn your slide shows into downloaded videos which is nice. However, keep in mind that you have to download a free application to do that.
Give Slide Roll a try by clicking here, I highly recommend it!!!

For another detailed review check out Richard Byrne's great blog.
Below is an example of a slide show I created, notice the fun use of Photo Booth ;-)
