Qzzr is a new free online tool for creating quizzes that I just found out about from Larry Ferlazzo's excellent blog. This easy-to-use site lets users create fun quizzes that includes multimedia content. Best of all these quizzes can be embedded into a site/blog and then lets users track their stats. This might be a good way for educators to assess student learning and then differentiate instruction.
Digipuzzle is a great site for finding a wide range of free online games, activities, and puzzles. This is a great way to introduce Game Based Learning into the classroom as well as for computer "centers". Also, there is a section titled "USA" which is a nice section for finding educational games/activities for on USA history/states/capitals, etc.
DragonBox Elements is an amazing mobile (iOS/Android) app that helps teach students about Geometry through Game Based Learning. The way this works is by having players travel through a magical world by solving logic based puzzles in over 100+ levels. The Euclidian concepts covered are: shapes, triangles, angles, and more. This is a very fun game designed for MS/HS aged students and has high replay value.
Math Run is a new online platform game by Yogome. Yogome is a fantastic company for making beautiful looking educational apps. These apps cover a wide range of subjects such as: Math, Science, Programming, and more. Recently, they just released a web version of their games that can now be played online or any mobile device (i.e. phone/tablet).
EDpuzzle the amazing educational tool (web/mobile app) is now available for free on any Android device. This as well as their easy to use iOS app makes it easy for any teacher to flip their classroom/lesson and have students view it on any device. Educators are using EDpuzzle to edit their videos (crop, add questions, etc) differentiate instruction, and more.
Socratic is an innovative new and free iOS app for homework help for students. This simple-to-use app lets students take a picture of their homework problem and then get answer walkthroughs, videos, explanations, and more to help them w/ their problems. It supports, Math, Science, History, etc and is a great time saver/tutor for kids

bulb is a wonderful site for creating beautiful looking digital portfolios. This easy-to-use (drag-n-drop interface) site lets users create dynamic looking pages that includes, images, videos, and more. These pages can be organized into collections and then shared publicly or privately. The user (educator or student) controls who can see what content. This is a great way to show case work and create stunning presentations.
GoClass is a wonderful site/app for flipping a classroom. This is a fantastic solution for educators to be able to manage their classes/students and create dynamic lessons that can be shared on mobile devices. Students can login to a session on their mobile device and then follow the lesson following the "show-explain-ask" method. Teachers can then get instant real-time feedback on student engagement and learning as well as attendance.
Flashcards by NKO is an excellent free iOS app that combines flashcards w/ Game Based Learning. This is a innovative easy to use educational tool that teachers and students are using to create flashcards and then use them in a variety of ways, such as: games, word search, bingo, etc etc. Best of all are the CMS (content management system) features that allows teachers to track students, download thousands of flashcard decks, create folders, share, and much more.
