SendHub

SendHub is an excellent free site or app for teachers to text parents/students for free.  This is done by creating a unique SendHub # that can be used from any computer, cell phone, or iPhone app.  It's ideal for sending notifications to groups or students/parents.

I highly recommend checking out SendHub by clicking here!!!

gText

gText is a new site that I just found out about from Free Technology 4 Teachers.  This is a great free service for group text messaging.  A user can use a cell phone to send group text messages that other people can receive.  Not only can a person send text messages but they can share files, photos, and calendars as well.

I recommend checking out gText by clicking here.

Celly

Celly is a wonderful free site for using mobile phones/text messaging in the classroom (found out about from a member of my PLN on Twitter). There is a lot to like about using Celly such as: creating a chat, alerting, and even using a curator to approve messages before they get posted (ideal for education). Also, it's ideal for taking notes, interacting w/ web (no phone is actually needed), etc etc.

I highly recommend checking out Celly by clicking here!!

Also, I recommend checking out TXTNLRN for texting in the classsroom.
