Tutor Pursuit

Tutor Pursuit is a new online tool or app (iOS/Google Play) to find a reputable tutor in your area.  All this is done in a safe/secure environment where a student just needs to put in a zip code or subject to find their tutor.  Tutors can create their own schedule, hourly rate, and more.  This is a great way for educators to earn some extra cash while students can find an affordable tutor in their area.

Tutor Hunt

Tutor Hunt is a site I just found out about from Edshelf.  This is a nice site for students and teachers to find and post tutoring jobs.  As a tutor educators can list what subjects they teach and post how much it costs per tutoring session.

Ask the Owls

Ask the Owls is a new site that I learned about from, Free Technology 4 Teachers.  This is a great site for online tutoring/teaching.  A educator can create a course and then teach via a webcam.  Once the course is created it can be shared online w/ others for social learning.  Also, ATO is a nice site for finding online courses for subjects you are interested in.

Tutorspree

Tutorspree is an excellent new site for finding private tutors.  This is a very easy site to use and people can search for tutors by subject or by area.  All tutors list how much they charge per hr and have a bio that shows their educational background.  Also, educators can sign up if they would like to become a tutor and earn some extra income.

Beanbag Learning

Beanbag Learning is a great social network/site to find a tutor. This is done in a nice user interface that is familiar to most social networks, such as adding friends/teachers, rating, commenting, etc etc. Also, students can find resources on specific topics that teachers are offering.

I recommend checking out Beanbag Learning by clicking here!!!

FYI, I don't think this site offers online tutoring, just the ability to find a local tutor and communicate in a social network environment.
