NeoK12

Neo K12 ia an excellent site for  finding educational videos/games. What I really like about NK is how easy it is to use and the vast amount of different resources they cover. I like to think of it as a cross between Nettrekker and United Streaming.

Vifinition

Vifinition is a interesting site I just found out about from Free Technology 4 Teachers.  This is a site that defines words via videos.  While it is not really a dictionary in video format it, it is more like videos that contain that word being searched.  These videos can be commented and rated and come from YouTube.  I would only use this as a teacher by embedded/saving the video and showing it that way, not by having students go to it themselves (typical YouTube safety rules, unless you use YouTube for Schools).

Woopid

Woopid is a nice site for free video tutorials on tech related information. What makes Woopid so nice is that it covers both Mac, PC, Linux and other applications. A person can even request a video that is not on their site.

I highly recommend checking out Woopid by clicking here!!!

Thanks to the wonderful blog, Edgalaxy for the tip!

Teach w/ Movies

Teach w/ Movies is an excellent site I found out about from Larry Ferlazzo's wonderful blog. This is a site that provides resources/lesson plans to popular movies. However, there is a $11.99 charge to use these guides.

Finding Nemo example...

I highly recommend giving Teach w/ Movies a look by clicking here.

YouCube

YouCube is a great site I learned about from the excellent blog, Zarco English. It is a place where users can publish YouTube videos onto a 3-Dimensional cube.

I can see this being used in a class (w/ appropriate guidelines) where students pick videos of a "central" theme and then link those videos together via the cube. For example, lets say students were doing a science project on plants, they can select videos of certain topics that have to do w/ plants and post them to the cube (ex, photosynthesis, chlorophyll, etc).

Below is my YouCube example of Common Craft videos...
