Pinta

Pinta is a new free painting/drawing app for Windows, Mac, and Linux.  This allows users to upload photos and edit/draw/add effects the way Photoshop does.

I recommend checking out Pinta by clicking here!!

Thanks to David Andrade's blog for the tip!!

Flash Paint

Flash Paint is a simple online painting/drawing application.  A user can create their own piece of digital art and then either save it to their desktop or share it to an online gallery.

I recommend checking out Flash Paint by clicking here.

Cloud Canvas

Cloud Canvas is drawing/painting site that I just learned about from Free Technology 4 Teachers. This is a site that is very similar to Splashup or Sumo Paint where there are a bunch of editing tools, layers, and colors/gradients for users to choose from.

I highly recommend checking out Cloud Canvas to meet all of your drawing/painting needs by clicking here!!!

Psykopaint

Psykopaint is a new (beta) site for painting. It is in a really early version of beta so there is a lot more coming, but from what I've seen this looks really impressive.

Basically, you upload your pic, and then use their painting tools to: brush, blend, filter the picture. You can do some really cool looking things on this site and it is very easy to use. Also, this has to be one of the nicest looking sites around.

Give it a try by clicking here. I recommend checking out the gallery!!!

Art Pad

I just came across this new site (beta) that lets you create art w/ brush strokes and records the whole event as a movie. Then w/ a click of a button you can email it to your friends and even "frame" it to display in their online gallery.

I feel this would be a fun resource for art teachers to use w/ their students to help introduce proper techniques. Also, it has a well defined "tip" section w/ a huge gallery of online art to explore. For more info click here.

Check out my computer example (it's great that you can control the settings to create a time-lapse effect)
