Tagboard

Tagboard is a site I just found out about from the award winning blog, Free Technology 4 Teachers.  This is a very handy site for educators that use Twitter, as it allows a person to view any content associated to a hashtag (ie, tweets, instagram pics, FB posts, etc etc).  A person can even retweet or respond to messages from the Tagboard screen.

I highly recommend checking out Tagboard by clicking here!!!

Strawberry Ja.m

Strawberry Ja.m is an interesting site for Twitter users.  After signing up for a beta account, SJ then curates a user's newsfeed by compressing all the online activity and displaying the most talked about content.  It's actually kind of cool and a nice tool for those people following a ton of people and want a way to sort through the content.

20 Hottest Hashtags for Teachers

This morning I received an email from Online Degrees regarding a top 20 list on hashtags for Twitter.  After looking at this list I must say I'm pretty impressed and guessed top 2 right off the bat. #edchat and #edtech are two of the most popular hashtags I see on Twitter through the use of my PLN.

I highly recommend checking out the rest of this list by clicking here!!!

Another useful site for hashtag users.

Pockets

Pockets is a great little site that I found out about on Twitter from Ozge Karaoglu. This is a fun site to leave voice mails over Twitter. The way this works is you type in a Twitter user's username (try mine if u like dkapuler) and then record a voice mail after Pockets calls you over the computer. Then when a recipient checks their Twitter feed they will see a link which will then retrieve their voice mail.

I highly recommend giving Pockets a try by clicking here!!

Twextra

Twextra is a site I just learned about from Larry Ferlazzo's wonderful blog. This is a site which lets users "text" on sites that usually require less characters (aka Twitter).

View the video below to see how this simple process is done...

Runt.ly

Runt.ly is a new (beta) site that I learned about from Larry Ferlazzo's amazing blog. This is a site that is designed to make it easy for anyone to post on microblog feeds such as Twitter or Plurk. A nice feature is that the user does not have to register, just type your post or upload a photo and a unique URL is generated for sharing.

Google Buzz

Google Buzz is a new service by Google which is getting a lot of "buzz" over the internet. (I know, I know, stop w/ the jokes.) Anyway, after watching the video and trying it out myself I must say that I'm quite impressed. It reminds of a cross between Facebook and Twitter w/ Google Wave mixed in. Plus, Google Buzz is already integrated into gMail a user doesn't have to do anything.

So, what does Google Buzz do? It allows people to follow their Google Contacts easily and see what their posts are, similar to Twitter. Also, a person can choose to like a post (a la Facebook), upload/view photos/video right in the window (a la Wave), etc etc.

I highly recommend checking out the video below...

Also, you can click on the button that says "see common friends instead". This will show which "friends" they have in common as well.
