Kollate is a new (beta) site I just found out about from Larry Ferlazzo's excellent blog. Kollate is a Google Chrome extension that lets users bookmark websites w/ a beautiful visual interface. Besides bookmarking websites a user can organize, annotate, tag, and more on a tab in their browser.

Hopper
Hopper is a new web tool designed to let users save anything fast and easily. This is done by installing a bookymarklet (similar to Diigo) and then clicking on Save to Hopper on any website that you want to bookmark. Also, a user can just copy and paste a URL, text, or image right into Hopper from their webpage. Another nice feature is the ability to make a URL private or shorten when managing information from your Hopper account.I recommend checking out Hopper by clicking here!!

Shelfster
Shelfster is a new (beta) site that I just found out about from the award winning, Free Technology 4 Teachers. I like to think of this site as a cross between a social bookmarking site and a paper writing site. It allows a user to bookmark and annotate any websites they like. However, it also allows a user to create a document and then edit it by dragging/dropping bookmarks. A finished product can be saved online or exported to PDF. There are also some nice features soon to come such as the ability to publish to favorite social networking sites and export to Google Docs.I highly recommend checking out Shelfster by clicking here!!!

Instapaper
Instapaper is a cool site for bookmarking that I found out about on Twitter from the wonderful education consultant, Naomi Harm. After signing up a user installs via drag-n-drop a bookmarklet into their browser toolbar. Then after finding a site that you want to read later just click on the button. This also works well for using on a variety of mobile devices.I highly recommend checking out Instapaper by clicking here!!

Bumpzee
Bumpzee is a site I just found out about from the wonderful professional guru, Kimberly Wright. Bumpzee is a site that is very similar to Skloog and SpeedyMarks that allows people to share their and organize bookmarks in a visual way. However, I'm not sure how appropriate this site would be for students due to some of the content, but it should be ok for teachers to use among themselves. For looking for a better educational solution I would suggest Diigo for social bookmarking.

Skloog
Skloog is a fun site for bookmarking that I just found out about from Zarco English, one of my favorite blogs. I like to compare Skloog to SpeedyMarks which organizes bookmarks via nice visual thumbnail of the site. This is very similar to how the start-up page for Safari or Chrome works for a user's history.

SpeedyMarks
SpeedyMarks is a visual bookmarking site. It is very similar to the default start-up page in Safari 4.0. The way this works is by storing a "cookie" on your browser (oooh I like cookies).
I recommend checking out SpeedyMarks if you are a visual person who rather browse through pictures of thumbnails the URL links.

A special thank you to Ozge Karaoglu for the tip!!

Pinboard
Pinboard is a site for people who like to bookmark websites. However, this is anti-social bookmarking. Think of this as the Bizarro Del.icio.us. It is a simple site for bookmarking your favorite sites online w/out all of the social networking hooplah!!
However, there is a one time registration fee which might deter people from using it. Although, there is a nice feature for exporting your existing bookmarks over.
