DragonBox Elements

DragonBox Elements is an amazing mobile (iOS/Android) app that helps teach students about Geometry through Game Based Learning.  The way this works is by having players travel through a magical world by solving logic based puzzles in over 100+ levels.  The Euclidian concepts covered are: shapes, triangles, angles, and more.  This is a very fun game designed for MS/HS aged students and has high replay value.

Geo Tombs

Geo Tombs is a excellent new game from RoomRecess, that helps students learn about Geometry (perimeter/area).  This game works like a standard platform game where a user has to run and jump collecting keys and different items, while solving equations and unlocking chests.  This is a great way to integrate Game Based Learning into the classroom and has high replay value.

Land of Venn

Land of Venn is a fantastic iOS game for practicing Geometry.  This is done in a tower defense style game (i.e. Plants vs Zombies) as students try to defend their land Venn from monsters by drawing geometric shapes.  This game has tons of replay value as users have over 30 levels to complete as well as earn money to buy spell upgrades and more.  This game is ideal for Adaptive and Game Based Learning, as well as aligned to Common Core Standards.

Grid Lines: Ordered Pair Game

Grid Lines: Ordered Pair Game is one of my favorite iOS Math apps from Math File Folder Games.  This game designed for El Ed and Middle School allows players or multiple players on multiple devices (up to 5) via bluetooth to try to shoot alien ships by drawing a laser through them by plotting points on a graph (grid line).  Besides having high replay value the game generates detailed results that can then be emailed to a parent or teacher.

Angle Asteroids

Angle Asteroids is a wonderful free iOS app that helps students learn how to measure angles.  This is a fun app that any Math/Geometry teacher can use that has students try to blast incoming asteroids by aligning it to the correct angle from their spaceship.  Also, being a part of Sylvan's education series allows for parents/educators to track student progress.

My Geometric Universe

My Geometric Universe is a cool iOS app for helping students draw geometric shapes.  This works by supplying a bunch of drawing tools such as: pencil, ruler, compass, etc etc.  Once a shape is created it can then integrated into one of three digital environments: kids room, Middle Ages, or Ancient Egypt.
