Care Bears Love to Learn

Care Bears Love to Learn is a free iPad app I downloaded the other day for my 3 yr old girl.  This is a fun app that has young kids engaging in educational activities such as: matching, puzzles, shapes, counting, and more.  Also, it has high replay value as the farther along one plays the more Care Bear stickers a person unlocks.  It's a simple and fun game that should provide hours of play for young learners.

Words with William

Words w/ William is an excellent iOS app for PreK/Toddlers learning the alphabet, numbers, and colors.  The way this works is a child watches William and selects the letter, number, or color he asks for.  It's very easy to use and has a feature for parents to turn on/off what they want their child to learn.

Alien Buddies

Alien Buddies is a nice inexpensive app ($1.99) for the iPad/iPhone.  I decided to check it out since it is available for free today at the app store 1-27-12 (click here) and would be great for my youngsters.  This app has lots to like for PreK-1 aged students.  It helps teach numbers, letters, and shapes through a variety of games.  The games include: matching, puzzles, connecting dot to dot, and stickers.

Beautiful Books

Beautiful Books is a nice site for reviews of books for kids up to the age of 6.  These reviews are done on a 5 star scale and are very insightful.  Some reviews contain video, and there are tips and activities for readers as well.

ABC Mouse

ABC Mouse is a wonderful site for PreK and KDG that I just found out about from a tv commercial.  This site is a full online curriculum that has lots of educational resources to offer such as: lessons, games, songs, puzzles, printables, etc etc.  However, keep in mind this is not a free site it is either $7.95 per month or $79.00 for the year.

Kinder Town

Kinder Town is a wonderful free site/app for finding educational apps for preschoolers.  This is a very easy site to use by selecting a subject, entering a child's age, and then choosing the device on which to view the app.

Kidyos

Kidyos is an excellent site for kids that provides a safe way for 1-6 yrs old to interact w/ the internet. This is done through pre-approved, video, games and sites. Also, a classroom portal is in the works for teachers and students.

Cullen's ABC's is like an online Sesame Street. This is a great place to find educational videos for the youngster/preschool kid. Also, parents/teachers can find nice activities for kids to play/do.

Story Blocks

Story Blocks is a great site for Pre-K and KDG students which help prepare students to learn how to read. This is a very engaging site and has lots of videos that students can sing/read a long to.
