AR-kid: Space

AR-kid: Space is an excellent iOS app for kids ages 4 on up and uses augmented reality to teach about Space.  This is done through a robot named Cosmo who narrates through 4 different aspect of space: (i.e. rocket, orbit, moon, and solar system).  This is all done using augmented reality where a kid interacts w/ virtual rockets, moon landings, etc.

Star Walk Kids

Star Walk Kids is a fantastic iOS app for teaching kids about Astronomy.  This is a super-fun interactive experience that lets users point their iOS device to the night's sky and then watch as stars/constellations get filled in.  These animations are done in an engaging cartoon style and narrated in an easy to understand explanation.  This is a great way for student's wanting to learn different facts about Outer Space and our solar system.

YouTube Space Lab

YouTube Space Lab is a new YouTube channel I just found out about from a promotional email from them.

Straight from their email....

"YouTube has launched a global competition to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. YouTube Space Lab challenges teens ages 14 – 18 to create a science experiment that can be performed in space. The two winning experiments will be conducted aboard the International Space Station and live streamed on YouTube. Space Lab is part of YouTube’s larger commitment to highlighting and providing access to the wealth of educational content available on YouTube as well as Space Lab partner, Lenovo’s, focus on equipping students with 21st century skills via information technology.
