ConnectaSketch

Connect-a-sketch is a new (beta) site for taking sketches/images and then creating a flow chart out of them. This can be done by uploading an image and then creating links to tie everything together into one smooth flowchart. Also, Connect-a-sketch has a nice user interface that is all drag-n-drop which makes it ideal for users.

Grapholite

Grapholite is a new (alpha) site that I just learned about from Free Technologies 4 Teachers. This site is ideal for making online graphs or flow charts. It reminds me a lot of Cacoo or Lovely Charts in how it uses a drag-n-drop interface and is very user friendly.

I highly recommend checking out Grapholite by clicking here!!

Cacoo

Cacoo is a new (beta) site for creating: graphs, diagrams, flowcharts, etc. It is very similar to Lovely Charts in that respect and has some really attractive options for users. For example, everything is done via a drag/drop interface which is ideal for any "Mac" user. Also, there is real-time collaboration going on via a chat; and the ability to have unlimited undo's. Finally, a person can share their media via an html code which is ideal for sites/blogs.

Below is a quick example I made in 3 min (very user friendly)...

Slick Plan

Slick Plan is a brand new mind mapping site that I learned about from the excellent blog, Langwitches. What makes SP so great is its simplicity. It is designed to make beautiful looking site maps and flow charts, and that is exactly what it does. This is a very user friendly program that once a user gets registered can have a fully functional mind map w/in minutes.

Check out my example below...

Lovely Charts

There are plenty of online diagramming applications, but Lovely Charts is one of the better ones to come along in a long time.

The first thing you'll notice after signing up (free, but paid to unlock everything) is the polished look/feel to it. This is one of the nicer looking online applications. Also, it is very user friendly and simple to use. Anybody who has had experience w/ Inspiration will be able to pick this up in no time.

One of my favorite features of Lovely Charts are all the different styles of diagrams you have to choose from: Flowcharts, Sitemaps, Network Diagrams, Wireframes, etc. Plus, it's very easy to save/download. I highly recommend checking this out and see no reason why it can't be used in education. The paid version unlocks all the web 2.0/collaboration features.
