Kids Flashcard Maker is a wonderful iOS app by INKids for creating beautiful looking interactive flashcards. These flashcards can contain recorded audio, video, images, etc. They are ideal for teachers looking to teach kids words or other concepts. Also, students can create their own flashcard decks for Spelling practice and more.
Flashcard Flash is a great search engine for finding flashcards. The way this works is by search flashcard sites for publicly shared flashcards.
StudyBlue is a site/app that I just found out about from an email I received. This is an excellent site for making flashcards (via photos or audio) and notes. Also, w/ their recently released mobile app it helps students learn in a more efficient and accessible manner. This is a great time saver compared to "old school" notes/flash cards.
Word Dynamo is an excellent new (beta) site for creating flash cards. However, there is more to like then just creating flash cards, there are educational games and quizzes as well. Basically, everything uses a word list which users can create or can browse for others, then they search for what they are looking for by grade level or subject.
Muchobeets is another free flash card creation site. Users are able to view, share, and create flashcards. While not as robust as some other flash card creation site, Mb is easy to use and has a nice look to it.
Flashcard Friends is an excellent new (beta) site for creating and sharing flashcards. Being a social networking site as well allows others to view, search, and modify existing decks of flashcards. There are some nice features such as hot keys, the ability to shuffle and select cards etc etc.
ProProfs is a great "all in 1" site for educators/students. What I mean by that is that there is so much to do here that this is almost like a one stop shopping of sorts. This site has: educational games, flashcard creator, quiz maker, and even a poll creator.
Social Decks is a nice site for creating flash cards on any subject. Flash Cards are shared w/ others via a unique URL and images can be added to cards too. A user can search through online cards as well.
Braineos is a new (beta) fun site for students for playing educational games to help them study. These games cover all types of subjects such as: Chemistry, Spanish, Math, etc. Also, this is a nice site for finding and creating flashcard which can assist in learning a subject.
Study Stack is an excellent site for creating flash cards. Also, a user can search through pre-made flashcards to find what's best for them. Another great feature are the educational games a user can play to help them study. There is a nice mobile app which works nice too for the users who prefer using mobile devices.
Quizlet is an excellent site for finding or creating flashcards. This site is ideal for studying and learning vocabulary. There is lots to like here on this site such as playing studying games and the different learning modes that are involved.
Study Egg is a new (beta) site that is geared towards students to help learn a given topic. This is done by creating a "egg" which can contain, text, images, links, etc. To make an egg is simple enough and is like creating a document/flash card. Also, there are pre-made eggs that users can browse through to learn a subject.
Yappr is a nice site/community for creating flash cards or quizzes. A user can create a flash card, true/false, or multiple choice type quiz. Best of all, being in a web 2.0 community, users can upload/share their flash card or quizzes w/ others.
FauxFlash is a great site for creating flash cards that I just found out about from Free Technology 4 Teachers. This is a nice site that users can share flashcards and also browse through educational categories. Creating a flashcard is easy and it can include images as well.
