Padlet

Padlet is a site that got quite a bit of press a few weeks back.  This is the site that was formerly known as Wallwisher and is an ideal "Web 2.0" tool to use in the classroom.  Padlet is a great way for creating an interactive board that teachers can use to collaborate w/ students.  This is a great way to leave notes, use as a backchannel chat for engaged learning, brainstorming, and much much more.  Best of all it is super easy and free to use.

I highly recommend checking out Padlet by clicking here!!!

Primary Wall

Primary Wall is a site I just found out about from Free Technology 4 Teachers. This is a site similar to Wall Wisher but designed for education. Like Wall Wisher, Primary Wall is very easy to use and all a user has to do is click on a wall or note and start typing. However, the paid version is the only way to get the built in filtering which is ideal for education. That being said, Primary Wall has an abundance of free resources for educators such as lesson plans and ideas.

Thoughtboxes

Thoughtboxes is a site I just learned about from the great blog, Educational Technology Guy. This is a site designed to organize your "thoughts". It kind of reminds me of a cross between Pindax and Wall Wisher w/ some Corkboard Me sprinkled on top, in that it creates a box that acts as a "sticky".

I recommend giving Thoughtboxes a try by clicking here.

Corkboard Me

Corkboard Me is a wonderfully simple site for creating collaborative sticky notes. This site works very similar to Wallwisher, Pindax, and Spaaze, just click on board and start typing away to add a sticky note. This site generates a unique URL that can be shared w/ others to facilitate collaboration.

I highly recommend checking out Corkboard Me by clicking here.

Thanks to the award winning iLearn Technology for the tip!!

Wall Wisher

If you like to use stickies or post-it's on your computer, Wall Wisher is right up your ally. I first heard about this cool/ultra-easy to use site from Larry Ferlazzo's terrific blog.

I can't even put into words (well, I'm going to try) how easy it is to get started. Just click on build a wall, create your entry w/ pic/video/audio if you like, and wahhh-laahhh you have your own page of sticky notes.

While this is great, there are a lot of other options which make it even more appealing. You can choose your own theme, add a logo w/ subtitle, and customize your very own URL. Also, you can get the html code to embed in your site/blog.

While looking into this online application I began to notice that there is no filtering going on whatsoever. However, when you're dealing w/ stickies you really don't want it to be filtered. So, if this is a wall just for "you" you can set it to private and just use it as that... a place where you can upload your notes and then view them whenever you want. Otherwise, you can set it to public and let others view/comment on it.

Wall Wisher is definitely a fun site to use and worth exploring.
