TestMe





TestMe is a wonderful new site for creating online flashcards.  What separates TestMe apart from other
similar learning tools is that it can take educators notes or lesson plans and turn them into educational flashcards that can be used for: studying, quizzes, and more.  Finally, a student can answer/respond to the flashcard easily "natural language" allowing TestMe to automatically grade their responses and then share their results.

quizflight

 





quizflight is an amazing new site for creating quizzes and flashcards.  What separates quizflight from other quiz generators is the robust amount of features (styles of questions, timers, etc.) as well as educational portal that allows educators to track/manage: classes/students, assessing student learning, and generate detailed reports.  quizflight is an excellent new learning tool that teachers should definitely consider looking at especially if they want to integrate technology into their curriculum and easily differentiate instruction.

Multidecker

 Multidecker is an excellent new free site for creating flashcards.  These flashcards are easy to create and can have up to four different answers to choose from.  One of my favorite features of Multidecker is the ability to view the deck and toggle through the answers and flip cards before selecting/playing it.

MemoStack

MemoStack is an excellent new site for creating flashcards.  Like similar sites, MemoStack uses "spaced repetition" to help students learn by giving them difficult more frequently.  Best of all, MemoStack generates detailed reports and integrates w/ a built-in dictionary to make learning easier.

Chegg Prep

Chegg has long be one of my favorite sites for buying, selling, or renting textbooks/eBooks as well as finding homework help.  Recently, they just announced the launch of their new site Cheg Prep, which is fantastic for creating and finding flashcards.  Chegg has acquired StudyBlue which was one of the world's leading flashcard creators for education.   Students and teachers can create multimedia flashcards as well as search through over millions of flashcards already created on any given subject for free.

Study3

Study3 is a new free site for creating online flashcards to help a student study.  Study3 has a very user-friendly interface and uses time spaced repetition to help users learn.  Also, a user can import cards from Quizlet or even export them into notes.  Hopefully, more features are still to come as Study3 is still relatively new, such as the ability to add images, etc.

Studium is a excellent iOS app for making flashcards.  Studium is a great learning tool to create engaging flashcards that helps a student study by including: images, audio, drawing, and more.  Best of all are the numbers of ways a user can use Studium to create quizzes to study their topic, such as: multiple choice, fill in the blank, T/F, and much much more.

StudyBlue

StudyBlue is a site I've covered in the past that has just released some new information.  I'm going to quote it straight from their email as they say it best....

StudyBlue is an excellent service for moblie learning and online studying.  This is all free and can be done to share, store, and collaborate on learning material.  Also, w/ an innovative flashcard system, it allows users to study, practice, and take quizzes on the go.

Tinycards by Duolingo is the new free iOS app for flashcards.  Tinycards lets students memorize anything by playing through a game and unlocking levels.  A user can play through an already created deck on any number of subjects or create their own.  These flashcards can
contain text, images, and animations making learning fun.

Flashcards by NKO

Flashcards by NKO is an excellent free iOS app that combines flashcards w/ Game Based Learning.  This is a innovative easy to use educational tool that teachers and students are using to create flashcards and then use them in a variety of ways, such as: games, word search, bingo, etc etc.  Best of all are the CMS (content management system) features that allows teachers to track students, download thousands of flashcard decks, create folders, share, and much more.

Cram is a nice educational site for creating flashcards.  Flashcards are a great way to memorize and study facts, and Cram makes it easy to create, share, or use already created flashcards.  There are millions of flashcards to search through in education (i.e. K-2, Speech, Capitals, etc.) as well as other topics such as Medicine, Computers, and more.  Best of all is a free mobile app (Google/iOS) for those who use Mobile Learning.

GoConqr

GoConqr (formerly known as ExamTime) has recently been through a major site overhaul which has improved on the user interface, mobiles apps (iOS/Android), and polished new look.  This is an excellent learning tool for education that lets users create, flashcards, mindmaps, quizzes, and more.

Brainscape

Brainscape is an excellent free iOS app/site for flashcards.  Brainscape's innovative "smart" flashcards works in timed intervals that a user rates on a scale of 1 to 5.  Brainscape then used an adaptive learning algorithm to differentiate instruction and display the flashcards that need more focus on.  This is a great way to learn difficult subjects and break down difficult concepts.

VocApp

VocApp is a free mobile (Android/iOS) app/site that I just found out about from a promotional email, for making multimedia flashcards.  This app can be used to learn any subject/topic as a user can create a flashcard containing audio, texts, images, etc.  Also, VocApp has some prebuilt courses that are ideal for learning languages (i.e. Spanish).  This is a great tool for self paced learning and VocApp differentiates instruction so a student will see items they are having more trouble with.

FlashSticks

FlashSticks is an interesting new site/app for learning a foreign language.  The way this works is a user prints out a color coded (blue - masculine nouns, pink - feminine nouns, green - other words) flashcard and then hovers their mobile device over it.  A brief video pops up of a tutor showing how to pronounce the word.  Flashsticks are ideal for learning any number of languages such as: French, English, Spanish, and more.
