Sketch Nation on TV

Sketch Nation the simple to use mobile (iOS/Android) app/site for creating games recently updated their lesson plan ideas page.  This is a great place for educators to go to find ways on how to integrate Sketch Nation into their classroom.  These lesson ideas focus on a wide variety of subjects such as: Coding, History, Math, and more.  Sketch Nation makes it a seamless way to introduce STEM into their classroom in a fun and engaging way.

Loopy

Loopy is an innovative new tool for creating interactive simulations.  Simulations are easy to create and done by drawing circles and arrows.  Educators can use Loopy to embed into a blog, create an explainer video, project based learning, differentiate instruction and much much more.  Finally, users can create their simulations from scratch and build on an existing one as a template.

Storyboard That Copy Assignment

Storyboard That the excellent learning tool that educators are using in a number of ways such as: project based learning, timelines, storyboards, and more has recently made it easier to copy assignments.  Educators can now login and copy assignments by the click of a button.  Once the assignment is copied to their teacher dashboard it creates a blank template of that assignments for students to fill in.  Best of all, an educator can edit the instructions and rubric that is attached to the assignment.

Cite It In is a great site for students looking to reference material and make bibliographies.  This is an easy to use that has a generator to cite materials such as: websites, books, videos, etc.  Also, it works w/ APA, MLA, and Chicago styles.

Quiznetic

Quiznetic is a new site for creating quizzes/games that students can all play at the same time.  All a teacher has to do is create questions and select their track to have students answer questions and try to win this Game Based Learning racing game.  Best of all, students can join using any device (via a unique code), questions can contain videos/pictures, and track student data.

EDpuzzle

EDpuzzle is vastly becoming one of the premiere web/iOS tools around for learning in the classroom.  This is fantastic free tool for editing a video, cropping, adding quizzes/polls, narration, etc. then embedding into site/blog.  It is being used to flip a classroom or lesson, Project Based Learning, grading/assessing, and even for differentiating instruction.  The educational portal allows students to sign-up w/out needing an email account and lets educators track student progress in real-time.

Gamefroot

Gamefroot is an excellent site for educators looking to teach or learn how to code.  Gamefroot offers easy-to-follow tutorials and even professional development to help teachers integrate Gamefroot and STEM into their classroom.  Similar to Scratch, students will be able to create their own online games (or iPhone), publish them, and even play games created by others.

DimensionU

DimensionU is one of my favorite companies for Game Based Learning.  These games take place in an interactive 3D virtual world where students strengthen their Math/Literacy skills.  The games are designed for kids grades 3rd-9th and are aligned to Common Core Standards.

YouTube Mixer

YouTube Mixer is a new (beta) site for mixing and mashing up audio soundtracks.  This is a dream come true for people looking to become their own DJ and experiment w/ different soundtracks from YouTube.  YouTube Mixer also supports audio from SoundCloud and Jamendo and easily lets users edit their soundtracks to their heart's desire.

Buncee for Mother's Day

Buncee is the amazing Web 2.0 learning tool that educators everywhere are using in a wide variety of ways.  This is a simple to use site/app w/ educational portal that allows educators to "flip" their classroom, differentiate instruction, blend learning, and much much more.... in a safe environment where they can manage/track student accounts and presentations.

Last year, Buncee created a page for wonderful Mother's Day Projects.  Students can create eCards, digital stories, poems and more, to show how much their mom means to them while sparking their creativity in the process.

Monster Math Duels

Monster Math Duels is a new/free educational iOS app for Math.  This fun app has students competing in class or at home on an iPad (split screen) or across multiple devices in different areas of Math (i.e. addition, subtraction, etc) grades K-5 (against each other or the computer).  Monster Math is aligned to Common Core standards, tracks student progress, and is a great way to integrate Game Based Learning into the classroom.
