Photo505

Photo505 is a fun site for adding effects to pictures.  All a person has to do is select a template and either upload a photo or take one right their on the site.  The pictures are then merged together.  This is like any other photo site that has pre-selected templates for users to choose from.

I recommend checking out Photo505 by clicking here.

Discovery Education

Discovery Education is a site I've blogged about before but it's been a long time and I just wanted to point out what a great resource it is for educators.  DE has a bunch of free teacher resources for grades K-12 in any number of different subjects.  These resources can include lesson plans, work sheets, etc etc.

I highly recommend checking out Discovery Education by clicking here.

FYI, David Andrade is a wonderful STAR Discovery Educator who is an invaluable resource for those wishing to pursue integrating Discovery Education into their curriculum.  For more information view his blog by clicking here.

Teachers with Apps

Teachers w/ Apps is a nice site for educators to read up on the latest apps for education.  This is done in a nice blog style format that has well written reviews w/ screen shots of the actual app.  This is a really nice site that has lots of useful information.

Learn Zillion

Learn Zillion is an excellent site for getting free video lessons set to state standards.  This site is ideal for educators, parents, and students for grades 9 and up.  Right now the only video lessons I can find are on all aspects of math/algebra/geometry etc. but I'm assuming other subjects are soon to come.

I highly recommend checking out Learn Zillion by clicking here!!

For a more detailed review check out the award nominated, iLearn Technology.

Fun Educational Apps

Fun Educational Apps is a site that is self explanatory.  It is a great site for finding apps for the iPhone, iPod, and iPad.  All apps can be browsed by age level or subject.  Also, there are nice detailed reviews w/ screen shots to help users find what best meets their needs.

When In Time

When In Time is a nice simple site for creating timelines.  Once a user registers they have the option to name/create a timeline by adding, text, photos, and video.  What's nice any "event" in the timline is clickable which allows viewers to find out more specific information.  Also, a creator of a timeline has the ability to make it public or private and select who if anybody has the rights to edit it.  My only concern is I don't know if there is the ability to embed these timelines into a site or if they are only viewable on the web via a URL.

Tapped In

Tapped In is an ambitious site that I just found out about from the excellent blog, Educational Technology Guy.  This is a learning community designed for educators, administrators, students, etc to come together to share and collaborate on resources and ideas.  Tapped In kind of reminds me of Second Life w/out the whole virtual world thing going on.  It is a place where people come together in a "virtual" building (think 16 bit graphics) to learn, share, communicate, chat, discuss what have you.
