ClassHook is an innovative new site for finding educational videos/clips that I was just reminded of by Monica Burns blog. ClassHook is a search engine for finding educational video clips through popular media.  It searches through TV shows, movies, and other forms of entertainment to bring educational clips to educators.  Best of all an educator can search through different subjects and each video displays wether it is for El Ed, MS, HS, etc.

Watch Know is a wonderful free site for finding educational videos. It has thousands of videos and categorized in every subject imaginable for education. This site is very user friendly and built around a "wiki-style" interface. This is ideal for districts that are especial worried about maintaining CIPA compliance.

NBC Learn

NBC Learn is the educational division of NBC News and delivers award winning educational content for grades K-12.  This media contains, news archives, interviews, live broadcasts and more.  Best of all, NBC Learn provides detailed educational resources, lesson plans, and professional development to help integrate their technology into the classroom.

Walnut

Walnut is a excellent new site/app for finding educational videos and then taking quizzes to assess learning.  This is done through a very easy-to-use interface where all the videos are curated for education where student's can then take quizzes that uses a game based learning interface.  Best of all, Walnut makes it easy for teachers to assess student learning and differentiate instruction.

boclips

boclips is a new (beta) site for educational videos that I just found out about from Richard Byrne's excellent blog.  This is a great place where educators can find safe school appropriate videos for their classroom.  Best of all, boclips can be used in districts that block YouTube since it does not use their video player.

VideoClass

VideoClass is a great site for educators and students to find educational videos on any number of subjects.  Also, teachers can upload their own videos and even charge others to download their videos.  Best of all, VideoClass provides a tool to allow users to record their own computer screen to create their very own screencasts.

Learning Mole

Learning Mole is a nice site for finding educational videos in the subjects of: Math, English, and Crafts.  All videos are organized by age level and provide interactive lessons that students can do.  Also, there are lots of resources for educators and parents and new videos are added weekly.

Jellies

Jellies is a new iOS app for finding educational videos similar to YouTube Kids.  However, what makes Jellies an intriguing alternative to YouTube is that all videos are curated by people instead of a computer algorithm.  What this means, is that there is a very scrutinive process that most be met for these videos to be available.  All videos, are age appropriate and do not have any "stars" or ads for commercial purposes.  Best of all, is the Kids Mode where parents can curate and control what videos their kids can watch.

WittyWe

WittyWe is a new site I just found out about from Monica Burn's amazing blog.  WW reminds me of q more robust version of BrainBop and is a excellent place to find online courses/educational videos on a wide range of topics (i.e. Math, Health, Science, etc.)  These animated lessons (5-10 min in length) are designed for El Ed kids through college and can be accessed on any device.  Also, there are special courses that will help students develop their "life" skills.  Finally, there are interactive resources, activities, and quizzes that can be taken after each video (w/ more coming).

Study.com

Study.com is a excellent site for finding educational videos that I just found out about from Class Tech Tips.  This is a great place to find thousands of videos on a wide range of subjects s
uch as: Math, Science, History, and more.  Best of all, a paid subscription allows an educator to create a virtual classroom, create/add lessons, grade assignments, and more.

Izzit

Izzit.org is a nice site for students to find educational resources and videos.  These resources can be searched by grade level or subject.  Best of all, there is a wide range of teacher tools such as: quizzes, lesson plans, activities for students, and more.

KidsCast

KidsCast is a new mobile (iOS/Google Play) app for educational content.  KidsCast acts as a hub for a wide variety of content, such as: games, videos, activities, and more.  KidsCast is a subscription based service and all of the content is safe and approved for kids.  Finally, they are always adding new content to keep their fresh and engaging and releasing a KidsCast club soon.

Kidjo

Kidjo is an excellent free mobile (iOS/Android) app for finding educational videos, songs, cartoons, and more for kids ages 2-7.  Best of all, Kidjo is COPPA compliant so you know all digital content is safe for kids to use.  Also, parents can set time limits through Kidjo's parental control and even store videos off-line to view w/out an internet connection.  Finally, new videos are added every week.

Planet Nutshell

Planet Nutshell is a great site for finding educational videos that I just found out about from Richard Byrne's amazing blog.  These videos cover a wide range of subjects from Health to Mathematics and even Finances.  These videos can then be shared w/ others or embedded into a site or blog.

PlayCornerTV

PlayCornerTV is a wonderful mobile (iOS/Android) app that filters YouTube videos so only educational videos show up.  This is a great way to eliminate all inappropriate content that can be found on YouTube as well as give a visual interface for kids who are to young or have trouble reading.  Different videos that come up are: animals, characters, and educational concepts such as, Math, Shapes, Alphabet, etc.  Also, there are Parental Controls that allows them to block or control what videos a student/child can see.

Glean

Glean is a fantastic new site I just found out about from the award winning blog, Free Technology 4 Teachers.  This is a great site for finding educational videos on Math & Science.  All videos are aligned to Common Core Standards and a user can ask questions of others too.

SchoolsWorld.tv

SchoolsWorld.tv is a great new site for finding safe/educational videos that I just found out about from Free Technology 4 Teachers.  This is a site that is ideal for educators, parents, and students where they can find educational videos on a wide variety of subjects.  The only wish I have is that a user can embed a video but as of right now they can only watch it online.
