Letter Quest EDU is the new Spelling game from Filament Games. Letter Quest is a super fun turn-based fighting game where a student spells words to defeat their enemy. As the game progress the words get harder and this is a great way to build up Spelling/Vocabulary skills. Best of all, a paid/registered user can track/save student progress.

Trilo Spelling is a wonderful new (iOS/Google Play) for grades K-2. This is a fun phonics-based spelling game that has students trying to spell words w/ a variety of monster characters as well as working on their Reading skills.
Spellspire is a new free iOS word game that I can't stop playing. This is a fun game that is like a combination of Boggle meets a RPG, where in a user can earn money and then buy different items to equip their player. As a user advanced up the tower, monsters get harder and harder, and a player has to spell words faster and faster. This can be a fun way to introduce Game Based Learning into the classroom, is great for centers, and has high replay value. Spell 'till you Drop by Reading Laboratory 2.0 is a fun free iPad for Spelling. The plot is simple as a student listens to a word then tries to spell it. In the game a player tries to "beat the clock" and spell 5 words correctly as they add planks to a bridge to cross it.
