Kialo Edu is an excellent learning tool designed to facilitate classroom discussion and ignite critical thinking while providing platform for educators to make it easy to gauge student understanding and differentiate instruction. The way this works is through Kialo's online collaborative platform that creates an interactive tree that depicts pros and cons of a discussion/debate. Students can use this for self paced learning and to get their points of across in a clear precise way.

Spiral
Spiral is a innovative suite of educational tools for the classroom. Below is a summary of their press release...
Quickfire is great for quizzes, class warm-ups and getting rapid responses from students. The students just need to log in on their personal devices to answer questions or use the canvas feature to annotate or draw their responses.
Discuss works well for encouraging class discussions, collaboration, and engaging the whole class. Teachers can either upload a presentation or make one from scratch before adding questions to generate relevant conversation.
Team Up is best for facilitating group work and getting students to work together. Teachers can assign students to groups, appoint a team leader, and set a problem for each group to solve. The students can then research and contribute their ideas to the team leader, who will assemble the team’s ideas in the form of a presentation. Students can go on to present their ideas on the whiteboard and critique each other’s work.
Finally, Spiral allows you to access your lesson data from your interactions which makes it much easier to carry out formative assessment and monitor student progress accurately!"

Elementari
Elementari is a wonderful new site for digital storytelling and project based learning that I just found out about from Larry Ferlarzzo's excellent blog. Educators are using this easy-to-use tool to have students create interactive digital stories, digital portfolios, presentations, and even choose-your-own-adventures. Stories can contain, custom made illustrations, sound effects, or even have a user record their very own audio. Best of all, a teacher can customize an already created project as a template to help integrate into their own classroom. Finally, a finished story can be embedded into a site/blog to help schools abide by COPPA/CIPA compliance.Below is an example...

ClassDojo Groups
ClassDojo the world famous behavior/positive reinforcement manage system for schools has just released their new "group" feature. This highly requested feature will allow teachers to award points to not only an individual but a group as well. This is ideal for educators who like to put their class into groups or teams to spark collaborative learning. Here is how it works...
ClassDojo Groups enables teachers to group students any way they like: table groups, reading
groups, house teams, project groups and more. Teachers can easily encourage a team for any
skill important to their classroom with just a single tap. Each group will keep its own running
total, which students love to maintain a sense of accomplishment and a desire to keep going!
Group points will still show up on student profiles alongside their individually award points, so
that students can see their progress from home and so can parents without any extra work.
Devices
ClassDojo Groups will work and sync across any iOS/Android device and any computer.
I highly recommend checking out ClassDojo Groups by clicking here!!!
